How does your Equifax file looks like? I would say that you have some very good chances to be accepted and if I were you I would try and apply for a Creation Credit Card from Sygma, you'll get a 0% offer on balance transfer if needed and a decent credit limit, you could also try Halifax....
  • Thanks for the reply
i had a score of 722 on credit expert last time i checked few months ago. when i opend my RBS account a fews weeks ago they asked if i would like an rbs cc i applied, i got declined. dont want to run up a list credit checks on the file.

    Thanks craig

First your score does not mean anything....a waste of money. Secondly have you recently checked your credit file with Equifax? If your repayment history is in good order for the last 36 months with no late/missed payments, all your accounts showing, electoral roll, number of searches is relatively low, then you have nothing to lose applying for a Creation Credit card as they only search Equifax. It does not mean because one lender said no that all will....
  • On just checking equifax few things, when i opened my rbs they made a mess of my first application over the phone spelling my 2nd name wrong. they got it right 2nd time round, will this be a problem? other things 1 of my defaults aint there any more. and all my payments are up to date. and my Credit union loan is paid and settled.

Maybe try the Braclaycard pre-check tool to see if you qualify? It leaves no footprint on your file. Let us know how you do :-)

  • Thanks. Done pre-credit check. Came up with three products 2 of which i dont think i would have any chance so applied for the Barcleycard initial. Been accepted. better than the rate i have with capital one.
