Choice of new number on BT

I recently cancelled talktalk after the service deteriorated
my question is if I now reconnect with BT as is my plan will I get a choice of number as I dont want the previous number

BT Retail will allocate the first available number to you when you place your order to connect a line.
Its not possible to request a specific number when you place your order however you can request a renumber once the line is working and BT Retail can allocate any available number but even then there is no guarantee you will get the requested number.0
