Best bank account for me :18 years old

Just goes to show what a sham the bank system is in when you can get more credit than myself when I earn more than 5 times as much as you.
Umm sorry?
They're both with banks, I hold savings and current accounts with and fairly average rates. I just make sure I pay off in full, am on the electoral register and have presumably acceptable internal scores?War does not determine who is right - only who is left.0 -
Non sense.I'll be surprised if anybody would give a credit card to an 18 years old on 6k a year. I'd probably knock the idea on the head, not being harsh, but no other way of really putting it. Not even sure if you have a real reason to need one to be honest, maybe worth seeing if you can get a small overdraft facility on your current account before looking for out and out credit cards.
I had my first £500 limit credit card @ 18 (JUST 18) having worked since 16 (paying NI at least since I was 16) on a measly 16 hours a weekend.
I'm now 20, a student, on 18 hours a week and I have a £12k car loan, a paypal credit card (1k, santander), a capital one card (2k) and my first natwest card.
As well as a store card for my work, and a next directory account.0 -
It's interesting thing. I am 26, earning 16k, and can't even get approved for the laptop deal at carphonewarehouse
I just don't have any credit history they said. Curently banking with Barclays. But have another account at lloyds tab for a year, where I hold some savings. Barclays refused me an overdraft of 300 and they are very sorry( atleast they writed that they are ). I am on the electoral roll, so I think I need to wait some time and try to get some credit card, to rise my credit rating. I am new to UK. Do I on the right way?:) 0 -

You aint done that well really mate you have got yourself a brand new zetec what you payed 12k for by time you have payed this off it will only be worth half that, you also owe 13k student loan,so to sum it up you have 25k of debt and you are 20 years old not a position i would like to see myself in.0 -

I have a brand new Zetec S (the S part is important,
) which I paid £11.5k for, and by the time I've paid it off in 10 months time It would have cost me a whopping £12,259. I bought it because I can afford it not because I was tempted by finance, lol
Thats STILL 3k under retail because my late father used to work for Jaguar Cars (so I get privilege number).
And £13k for 2 years of a degree isn't bad, considering starting wage for a graduate in my field is £36k.0 -

Nothing to do about winding people up mate its still 25k at 20 years old,its a blo0dy hell of a lot of cash he owes at that age,and what pinkarsenalprincess said if theres a job at the end of it.
What it he don't get this 36k a year job,its a big risk if you ask me,think we might see a bankrupt in the making.0 -

I have bought a car I can afford, because I know I can afford it, not because a monthly figure suits my pocket.
If I do 'crap' for the period october to october at work, and 'life in general' I suppose - I can still get £9k together, and pay £235 a month finance. I will then have a car worth more than what I paid for it (theoretically, obviously based on mileage and condition).0
