Just been to my local builders for a quote castell and for a UPVC door fitted and all the bits (oh and a bit of side panel in mine too) they were £1100 and upwards:eek::eek:

I want ormus's quote instead please - time for a bit of shopping around I guess

We are looking at front door replacement, and so far we have visited 3 showrooms. We want composite door, so it is a bit more expensive. The cheapest we saw would be about £650-700 fitted, the most expensive £3000 for a German make.

The cheapest were direct window co.

P.S. Ormus - thanks for the tip on class-plas. I have just emailed them asking if we are not too much north... The prices on the website seem to be very good.

aye. sorry but ive no idea how far they will travel.
they do supply only too. so it may be worth will trying to find a local man to fit em?
certainly cheaper than the everest/anglia scammers etc.

Well, they replied with the quote for the patio doors, at £890 installed, which is cheaper than we saw elsewhere. It will probably be a bit more as we want outside to match the window colour. I just have to hope that the handle is not the horrible looking one we saw in other places. We are going to visit some friends tomorrow, so might try and get to the showroom tomorrow, maybe they have an example.

If you want the best quality composite door with the best choice of quality door hardware (and in any colour of your choice) I suggest you get in touch with the composite door company who are based near Leeds.
