hello everyone, just a quick question that I hope you can help with. My cousin (female) is in the Army and my Mum wants to do her a shoebox for Xmas but I know there's certain stuff you can and cant send. Does anyone have any suggestions of anything that would be particularly appreciated for both males and females (think shes going to do one for cousin's BF as well)
thank you
thank you

All depends where they are, remember to keep the weight below 2kg and the free postage will start next month, depending on the location. Info on here too - http://www.bfpo.mod.uk/0

There was a thread about this last year - let me dig it out - standby one...

sorry to take over slightly. his might sound odd, but although i don't currently know anyone in the forces i wondered whether there a service type this where people can send out shoe boxes to erm someone random? i know you can write letters, but i was just thinking that although lots of our forces men and women have families to send them nice stuff i'd hate to think of some people missing out, so if there's a way to help more practically and put a smile on someones face that'd be great. if not there are lettersThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. You can send parcels through SOS http://www.supportoursoldiers.co.uk/carepackages.html Contact your local representative for details of collections in your area. (We are doing this as well as Operation Xmas Child at school this year).0 -

I've got a friend out in Afghanistan (Bastion area) at the moment - 7 months into a 12 month deployment - and am putting together a shoebox with a view to getting it to him around about mid December. How long does it take for the post to get out there?
I seem to have a couple of chocolate items in the pile - is it really a bad idea to send these out in even in winter? They are Xmas specials, and I was kind of hoping it might be a bit cooler by then and they would survive.
I have picked up a couple of good ideas here though so thanks for the tips!0 -
