I may need to apply for Jsa Contribution based can i use my own surmane and not my married one.i know i have to put down i have a partner but have always used the surname i was born with

You can give them a name you wish to be known by and all letters should be issued to you in that name.
If you actually want to change the name you have on the system though you will probably need to provide some evidence that you are known by that name.0 -
IIRC it ask for your surname and any others you have been known as,under which name have you made NI contributions?0

It would actually be more difficult to make a claim using your married name if you normally live and work using your own.0

hi thanks for that mainly my own surname which i use for tax credits with my partner.used his surname for 2 years then we split for two years and kept mine since.i presumed it would go on ni number rather than name
