I've had it booked marked from earlier this year, and thought i would look to see if it was cold... as it really feels it right now, to find the page gone, and when you search it takes you back to my booked marked page, so they haven't updated their side only moved the page

Hi Mupette, I found the page and link which hopefully will work. I'm afraid it doesn't kick in until 1st November! I have noticed it getting colder the past couple of days.

Who knows, after next Wednesday with the government's spending review ... they may scrap it!0 -
I'm hoping they wont scrap it. I got £75 last year which went towards my £300 heating bill, really needed it, still struggled to pay the rest.0

richard9991, thanks for that!;) On a serious note it will be very interesting what happens with these announcements ... if they decide this in their review next Wednesday.
There has been such a fuss made about child benefits after last week, I wonder how much the media reports on this. One thing I don't get is that they are just leaking these things out - drip feeding the bad news. Just like the awful news yesterday that students will face. It's as though they're testing the waters to see how much outrage there will be!
They are hell bent on making the weak and vulnerable in society more miserable and desperate. They have the audacity to keep preaching that they will look after those who are weak and vulnerable in society, what a joke!
If they go ahead with cutting the cold weather payments to £8.50 it's almost as bad as scrapping it altogether - it's like they are saying oh look aren't we good to you ... we didn't get rid of it!
If they don't watch it they may very well have a few tragic stories that they will have to answer to over the coming months!
It looks like I'll be wrapped up in duvets over the coming months ... it's going to be a bleak winter!0 -
