Hunt For Best CD WOW Discount

Thanks Tony, I followed your instructions and got 'Underworld' for an amazing £2.99!
Only thing is, I'm feeling a little guilty. I've recommended cd-wow to all my friends since I discovered them a couple of years ago and to be fair I think they are cracking value even without discount codes, especially with the free p&p. An average cd was about £15.99 in the shops when I started using cd-wow and I am sure that the supermarkets have dropped their prices since because of aggressive competition from such new retailers.
I would hate to think that greedy purchasers like us end up killing the golden calf. Or maybe I should just put the film on and enjoy!
What do you think? Should we be waging war on every retailer who wants to turn a modest profit or should we be targetting the ones who really deserve it? ???0 -
Martin,
It would appear that wirm's thread pre-dates the removal of the discount you agreed with CD-Wow, so I guess that's the answer. Especially if they have seen the claims of a few who boast that they have thousands of vouchers. Well, those few seem to have been thwarted by the new terms and conditions (although, I suspect that the vouchers will be sold on Ebay) and made it more difficult for everyone else, methinks.0 -

Somehow I don't think that I am to blame for the 75p off being stopped! ::)0 -
*pats wirm on head*
i don't think it was anything to you wirmy......they have just had their bottoms bitten by their own unrully links... is their problem if they have lost track of what can be used with what and obviously some shrewd money saver is gonna put two and two together and make....erm....a saving!!
;D :-*Once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue, a wonderful living side by side can grow, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole against the sky.0 -

Unfortunately I have just found out you can't combine the email vouchers with the £1 discount links- They make you click through a special link for the email voucher to work.
Worth noting though, I made an order before christmas from their new WAP site, Which saved me £2 in that promotion and they even sent me a 50p off voucher in the parcel.
They're very reasonable with their prices, personally I think people should stop trying to rip them off. If I was the owner of the business, I think I'd cancel money off links too if they were being abused. One day me might find that CDwow has closed... and then everyone will be moaning about that instead.0 -

It worked for me. Just don't follow the link and copy and paste the code into the e-voucher box.0 -
Still working fine for me as well
Just placed another 4 orders.0 -

Hi,
I've gone through various links from these postings to try and get some e-vouchers, but it does seem they've de-activated. Plus I've only found that one of the £1 voucher Links was working.
I also read the DVD Bargain CD-Wow T & C and combining links & vouchers is against the rules! :-/
CD-Wow are invariably one of the cheapest DVD/CD retailers, offering a constant, year-round saving of (rough average) £1-5 on High Street prices.
I think there is imminent danger of them increasing prices to cover costs/losses and stop people abusing systems. E-vouchers already seem to have gone by the wayside - which were a useful bonus.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think they should have withdrawn the 75p discount either - they should have realised what would happen with that and e-vouchders in existence and prevented it from being possible/ made T & C clear earlier.
I'd rather there was a permanent price saving available with this company - as there was before anyone knew about e-vouchers/MSE discount link etc -, than have them increase, have other e-tailers follow suit, and lose all benefit of the lower prices and convenience of not having to traipse into town.
Rant over, don't wish to be Pollyanna but think about the long term benefits people!0
