Last seconds of auction...How long to wait?

Because the auction which is sitting at 95 quid is less attractive than the one with the simialr item at less money. so they take their bids elsewhere.
Ive sold over 300 guitars on ebay, few cheaper than 1000 pounds.
I know from experience than guitars which quickly get bid up to around 900 quid can often then stay at that price for the remaining days whereas the guitars which take off slowly and are at half their market value get more watchers and more bids in the later stages.
I know what every model of guitar is worth and every one Ive bought at a profitable price can only be achieved by bidding early.
Everyone puts stupid low prices in to get it registered in their ebay but I come along and I shock them with a high price. Some other people test the water by bidding agasint the bold bid Ive put and thus it gets bid up early. Instead of letting people pass the top bid position amoungst themselves at stupidly low prices.0 -

Yes, but I asked why any intelligent person would do that. You have illustrated your reply by detailing how morons would react.kriss_boy wrote:Because the auction which is sitting at 95 quid is less attractive than the one with the simialr item at less money. so they take their bids elsewhere.
Yeah, they must go nicely with the big lots of LegoIve sold over 300 guitars on ebay, few cheaper than 1000 pounds.
You are detailing the behaviour of people who are either very new or very stupid.I know from experience than guitars which quickly get bid up to around 900 quid can often then stay at that price for the remaining days whereas the guitars which take off slowly and are at half their market value get more watchers and more bids in the later stages.
It may be that few guitarists make a habit of ebay purchasing, so would tend fit into the former catagory.
I have found that for most high value items the activities of the newbies/idiots makes very little difference. Either the item goes for an unrealisticaly high price after a bidding war or a seasoned ebayer walks off with it after his or her single sniping bid wins the auction. Guitars may be different.0
