Pipex have ruined our line

My parents have just taken on a lodger who wanted to switch his Pipex account to a second line going into their house. This has been done, but when my parents return from there holiday their Tiscali internet services are not working. Pipex have apparently taken over their line as well as installing the lodgers, dispite him telling them not to touch their line.

They have issued a new number to this line which is why the Tiscali internet doesn't work and the emergency homecare connection will not work for the elderly lady they look after, not to mention my Dads business number disappering!

We have spent days on the line to Pipex Talk Talk/Tiscali and BT trying to get the old number re-instated but they all keep passing the buck.

I have tried e-mailing Pipex but the auto system won't handle the nature of the complaint so we have tried writing (on the advise of Offcom). The trouble is the snail-mail isn't going to get the job done quickly and we are concerned about the safetly of those relying on the homecare connection.

I have now tried the local MP, but does anyone have any other ideas? We are despirate to get this number back and reverse Pipex's actions.

    I am with Pipex & for five weeks now I have had no 1571 voice-mail. They at first tried to blame my handset but when I told them I had two handsets in different rooms they tell me I They are working on it. When I ring them I am told I will be rung back - usually between 5pm & 7pm - they never do. In the mean time no one can leave messages. I think I shall give in & buy an answering machine. I am stuck with them for another 10 months & even then would be unable to get a MAC code.

    No, you ain't stuck with them. Write a letter, keep a copy and tell them to sort it in 14 or 21 days, else you will rescind the contract on grounds of their non performance. Then leave and cut off the money supply.
