I have just tried to buy something over the telephone and the woman told me my card has been refused by my bank.

what does that mean?

it is a visa debit card

    It means they're having "non of it"

    Lots of reasons from lack of funds to suspected fraud.....or maybe the bank just wants to get your attention?
