Evesham ebox setup problems

My dad has got one of these with a 27" plasma/lcd (don't know the difference). I have tried following the instructions to set it up but was wondering if anyone had bought one and got it to work. I can get it to work as a tv or as a pc by rewiring it each time but this surely isn't right.

I have done a search on google and a few sites came up but i'm not sure which can be recommended and where i should look for guidance on them. Any help or nudge in the right direction will do as my father is on my back about him not being able to use it.
