JSA contribution based confusion

Hi

I am after some answers if we have anyone working in the benefits field i'd appreciate your advice.

Some background

I lived in Leeds for 10 years and worked the last 8 yrs there in continous employment up to 1st Oct 2008. My wife and I had our first child in 2007 and decided we would be better to relocate back to our roots in the countryside. I left my job on 1st Oct 2008 and we moved cross country back to be near both sets of parents. My wife moved jobs without any break in employment I was out of work from 1st Oct 2008 until 5th May 2009. During this period I claimed and received JSA contributions based for the first 6 mths. In May 2009 i got a job at my local district council and have been in full time employment ever since.

We have been advised that due to the government overspend i'll be made redundant around 1st Jan 2011. I'll get no redundancy pay having been there less than 2 years. Have I any chance of claiming JSA contributions based again for 6mths? I have tried to understand the rules but they frankly baffle me.

Thanks

the relevant dates for contributions will be Apr 07-Apr 09 so you will be 6 months short - not sure if you can have any gaps or whether it is based on the £s paid over that period

Credited NICs from when you claimed JSA will be counted as well so you could qualify.
