My gas meter is registered to another address-Help!

We have just been in the process of getting a quote from a new gas supplier and they told us that our gas meter (according to serial number and meter point reference) is registered to number 66 on our street, we live at number 31.

These are definately the numbers for our meter and our meter readings have always been correct. What do we do about this?

We have also been told by the company giving us the quote that we are entitled to reclaim any money we have paid to our gas supplier. Is this true?

There's no one here who can help you resolve this issue.

Have you tried contacting your supplier?

contact your present supplier regarding this as they may have to do want is called a trace and label to confirm the details they have and those they have entered onto the national data base held by xoserve is correct, you could also check details your self by calling the m number line to check your mprn number with them - give them your serial number once they have confirmed they have located your address to see if details are the same.

im going through something similar at the moment.
Not sure about reclaiming paid money, but if you did they would probably ask you to pay it back. after all theyve provided you with a product and its not their fault that the mprn and meter numbers have been crossed.
