I currently claim jobseekers allowance and i have applied for a job which is only 15 hrs a week, its a job i have done before so i know the ropes etc, however i am a single parent with a 10 yr old girl, why is it that you have to work 16 hrs or more to get working tax credit. I really want to work but some of the jobs ive applied for are only 14 and 15 hrs a week which isnt enough to claim working tax. But the question i want to ask if i take one of these jobs how will i stand with jobseekers allowance, and will i be entitled to anything at all for going back to work. Sometimes you cant do wrong for doing right.

I doubt you'll get anything from JSA, 15 hours at even NMW is more than you're entitled to for JSA so they'd give you nothing. You will probably still get some HB, CTB and CTC though, just not any WTC.
It's only a game

Yes thats what i was meaning to say, if i worked the 15 hrs would i be able to still claim HB CT and child credit stays the same anyway, i really want to get back to work and would like this job if i get it, it is also more than what i would get on jsa.0

if you could get an hours paid cleaning/ironing a week..or maybe sell Avon...
it'd make your hours up to 16 and you'd be able to claim WTC
good luck!0
