Fitting photo into locket

I've got an old (i.e. pre-digital) photo that I want to fit into a locket for Mumsy's Chrimbo pressie. Asked for advice at the photo section in Boots, they didn't seem to realise that there was a pre-digi age!
Any ideas on how to proceed, can I scan it that tiny or something I haven't thought of?
The pressie seemed such a good idea at the time!
TIA

I take it you have the print, and not the negative?
And that you want a copy of this print so that you can cut the copy to size and keep the original?
What photo or PC equipment do you have at the moment? You could buy a typical printer/scanner, and merely copy it on that..... otherwise,
I'd look for a 'proper' photographic shop, rather than a chemist with a photo counter.0 -
No I do have the neg as well as the print, if that helps. I have a standard colour scanner/printer but not sure if it will go small enough.0

IF you download irfanview(free powerful imaging program),you can scan your image with your scanner in it or in your scanner software and then choose image from its menu and you will see resize/resample, choose it and you will see that you can resize to inches,cm or pixels.
The best way to get the right size for the locket would be to make a paper template till you get a good fit, you can then measure that and use the dimensions in the imaging program.
save your file as a .tiff as there will be less blockiness.0
