Hi Glen,
glad to hear about your positive situation. Over the last few years i cannot try to add up the amount of money i have wasted (mainly on cosmetics/clothes etc). However, since i gained control of my finances, i am far happier seeing the interest mounting up in my savings accounts than any of the new fangled wonder products bought out by the leading cosmetic houses. I still have expensive tastes, but have learned to limit them. (I wont tell you about the slip up i made over christmas though - £100 on face powder because i wanted to use it as an eyebase. I kid you not!!).
This week i have finally cleared the debt on my credit card. It was like a noose round my neck even though i had it on a C Card with 0% balance transfers. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hello Glen.
I can tell you, its is a nice feeling to have savings. I been saving habit for the last few years and now feeling so much happier and life in general is good. Its nice a nice feeling to see your bank statements and see how much money you have made in Interest.
Oh by the way, I am still going out with my mates, enjoying myself and still enjoy a few breaks/holidays each year abroad.
The main thing you need to do is budget.0 -
I have been the same, wasting money on so many things, - my worst was shoes Judi
- having lurked here for 6 months, I've learnt to make so many changes. Cheaper insurance, 0% on credit card balance (which I've actually paid off now), cooking from scratch and 5% interest on my current account, which now has a balance at the end of the month! I have even sold lots of the things I had wasted money on and didn't need at a car boot sale. Thanks to everyone here!
