I am not surprised. My fiancee and I switched to Santander in September and were planning to transfer all of our banking to them. In just over two months we have experienced a list of errors and incompetence that I honestly wouldn't have considered possible if it hadn't happened to us. We are now in the process of moving away from Santander after less than three months. I have no faith in them whatsoever and don't plan on letting them handle any of my money longer than they absolutely have to. It really threw into light how harshly I had judged my previous bank for what was, in hindsight, quite a small error. Nothing like suffering some Santander incompetence to throw things into perspective.

I would rather stab myself in the eye with a blunt pencil then have anything to do with Santander, there is a poster on the site who works for Santander and it might be an idea to contact him.
  • Hi All - I totally agree with diable. I can tell you all first hand that I am on my 3rd complaint at present with Santander. They have made huge errors and offered me £25 then £50 compensation, which takes the **** as their mistake could have cost me over £4000! I am closing my accounts with them asap and sticking with first direct

keep fighting and do not accept any sub-par settlements.

they will fold in the end.

    Oh dear

I was with Santander for 23 years, glad to see the back of them (ripoff merchants) just my opinion of course, but I've been there, they made a mint off me in charges!

You WILL regret the move. Hopefully, you will not go with them!
Their money offer is a ploy to pull in customers, as they have lost soooooo many!!!
