Judicial review PPI

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me exactly what is meant by this; I copied it from the BBC website, part of an article about the banks putting PPI complaints on hold.

Now, the BBA has said that any cases which could be affected by the outcome of this judicial review - which might not be heard in the High Court until early next year - will be put on hold.

How do they determine which cases are possibly affected by the judicial review? Which ones are unaffected? Shame on the Beeb for being so woolly!

Becky

  • Hi,

I have read them but the point I made has not been address as far as I can see.

I want to know what criteria do claims that will NOT be put on hold meet!

any cases which could be affected by the outcome of this judicial review does not imply ALL cases only SOME.

Anyone else know the difference between them?

    Becky :)

    Hi Becky

Basically going from what I understand up to now, is any ongoing cases and cases they have resolved where peeps are awaiting refunds this should still continue.

Any new cases brought forward from now will be left on hold until further notice.

It seems that NOT all banks are doing this though, Santander are sticking to the customers on this one and contining with previous and new complaints.

I imagine this subject will be updated regularly, keep a check on here often too.:)

Becky, we all want to know this and as yet the wording is not clear enough. I think that soon it will be confirmed as people start to ask in emails etc but nothing solid yet.
  • Thanks guys, really appreciate it.

  • Hi, I have 2 ongoing PPI complaints in the pipeline at the moment. The first being Lloyds, who have upheld my complaint and am currently awaiting a refund and the second is with Welcome Finance - still being investigated after 6 weeks. (whoever said it should take 8 weeks to resolve a complaint is barking - should be 4 weeks as with most companies. After all, the banks and other financial institutions are quick enough to take your money!)

Where do I stand with regards to the PPI claiming on hold?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi and welcome
As your case have been resolved, you will or should be fine, contact lloyds to ask them of when you should expect to receive your refund.

And this does not to what I am aware of affect Welcome only the main banks.

Good luck, please let us know how you get on and well done on your success.
