Hi ive noticed this quite a bit over the last few months and ive always wondered why? It seems strange that there are bidders that join ebay months and months before buying/selling anything. Anyone know why or is it a perfectly fine thing to do?

I joined ebay about 2 years before I actually used my account. Just never got round to using it till last year.0

You need to set up an account to use the "watch" or "saved searches" facilities, and I expect some people set up an account and then get outbid or find that the particular item they want gets too expensive so they don't bid on it and it's a while before they want to bid on something else.
It was several months between the first time I bought something and the second, so if I hadn't got a deal the first time I would be in the situation you mention.0 -
MY brother in law has had an account for two0 years. Has never bought anything but sold 3 items. None of the buyers have left feedback so he still has 0 feedback. This kind of thing could happen quite a lot as a lot of buyers & sellers do not leave feedback and if you only occassionally use the account its hard to build up feedback.
A lot of people join but then are maybe unsure how to bid etc or how to look for items so just leave it, and maybe have a scoot on ebay occassionaly. It used to worry me if they won my auction but I have never had a problem with payment( I guess if they rarerly bid on things they genuinely want the item unlike people who bid on tons of things just for fun ) .Its usually the ones with about 15-30 fEedback that I have hassles with !0 -
Also a lot of ebayers set up 'board IDs', accounts that they use to chat on the discussion boards so they can remain anonymous without any threat of their auctions being sabotaged etc. Sometimes these are used to buy or sell the odd thing.Swagbucks earnings since 22/05/2012 £135 paypal cash
