Past Due Credit Solutions - What to do

Hi,

I received a phising letter from past due credit solutions asking me to call them about an urgent matter.

This was sent to my current address but regarding a previous property where i stayed. The dates in the letter were for a period when I wasn't in the property.

I phoned them, withholding my number, and gave them minimal information except to say I wasn't in the property in the period referred to by them.

I might have the details of the letting agent who will have the names of the people who were in the property at that time.

Should I call them back with these details?
My gut feel is not to do anything more than have my details removed which they say they have now done.

What would you do?

I'd leave it at that. If they send anything further to you I would ignore it.

    Thanks.

Had been on holiday and found another letter from them (dated later than the phishing letter) demanding payment of 00s on behalf of british gas within a week

Given that I was never on the name of any of the utilities while I was staying at the address its clearly a letter trying to scare someone in to payment.

Not very impressed by their methods at all.

Credit Solutions are absolute morons - they're not even one of the bigger DCAs (which I feel quite insulted by).

I've lost count of how many automated calls I've received from them, but it's approaching three-figures. But, they're all being logged, ready for an OFCOM complaint.

In the same situation as you. Posted a topic on it.

Got a letter demanding payment for dates I wasn't even living there or they would send their 'heavies' round.

Confirmed with British Gas that I had cleared up all the money owing to them, and that they were 'fishing', and hoping that one of the people who had been at the address would be scared enough to pay the bill.

Said that they would trigger a notification to them to say that my tenancy wasn't within the dates they referred to, so this I hope will be the end of the experience.

If I get any more hassle from them, I'll fire off one of those PROVE IT letters.
