energy plus care from southern electric

I'm disabled and have my husband and three children two years ago i went on to southern electric energy care plus in which i was given 20% discount on my gas and electric for two years .today i reapplied and was told that i no longer qualify for the discount even though my illness is worse than two years ago the cost of living is worse than two years ago i was only just got through the winter last year on costs of gas and electric don't know how i will this year.does anyone know if any other utility company is offering the same discount and if anyone else is worse off now for coming off their discount plan and if there is any way i can change my gas and electric company if i have to i cant afford to stay with them .:(

Just went and applied to british gas we wont qualify for help as you have to have a minimum of £17000 a year income BE WARNED though they take in ALL benefits including housing and council tax and disability benefit i only have £1400 coming in to the house hold each month BUT when they add my hosing benefit and council tax benefit on i go over the bracket to £21000 a year so i no longer qualify for the help and they DON'T take into consideration of your out goings either the fact is i have more going out than income (which is a majority of households in this country!)and it's not just us it's elderly as well if they calculate their pension with ANY housing benefit:mad::mad: and council tax benefit THEY WONT BE ABLE TO HAVE THE DISCOUNT EITHER!!
