Why Do People On Benefits Get Help With Housing Yet We Cant?

Is It Just Me Or Does Anyone Else Feel That Its Unfair That When Youve Always Worked And Paid Full Everything That It Seems A Little Unfair Now Ive Had To Go On The Sick Due To Poor Health(ive Never Had Time Off Work In 12 Year)that I Get No Help.it Really Annoys Me That I Pay Tax National Insurance Full Council Tax And A Big Mortgage Yet Now Im Having To Have Time Off I Get A Measley £70 A Week No Help With My Mortgage And £7 A Week Council Tax Benefit?i Have A Wife And 5 Children Which Ive Always Provided For Albeit Weve Got Debt Problems Due To My Proffession(chef)constantly Changing Jobs.is It Only Me That Thinks People With A Council House/rented House Get Housing Benefit When On The Sick Or Unemployment Benefit Shouldnt People Who Own Their House Get The Equivalent?people I Know In Rented Tell Me They Get Atleast £200 A Month And Im Damn Sure I Could Use Some Of That To Help Me With My Mortgage Granted It Would Only Pay Half But It Certainley Would Help.i Dont Begrudge Anyone Anything But I Feel I Shouldnt Pay Full Anything If Im Getting Nothing In Return.also I Paid For A Mortgage Insurance Cover With Payment Shield/halifax And Lets Say Ther Are That Many Clauses In It It Isnt Worth The Paper Its Written On!sorry 4 The Rant6 Would Like To See What Others Had To Say?

    Hi, whilst I empathise, I think you would be better focusing on what help you are due.

    I assume you will be getting tax credits, make sure you are getting all you are entltled to.

  • True But Probably Wont Own For About 50 Years And Is Infact An Ex Council House That I Paid £86000 For .we Pay £500 A Month Mortgage With No Help And Had To Put £14,000 Down Deposit I Suppose Im Feeling Sorry 4 Myself But At Present Wish We Had A Council House Life Would Be So Much Easier.

  • Just seems strange that two people with the same habit joined the forum about the same time, have the same (fairly unusual ) size of family and are both from the same part of the country, that's all.

    No, it makes it very difficult, & combined with the lack of punctuation, almost impossible, to read.
  • It's the software behind the message board. It automatically does it to any posts written entirely in capitals. I find it annoying and hard to read, but less so than posts written in capitals.
