Always wondered, how do you create a new one? Ages back I deleted it from quicklaunch by accident, never did find out how to make a new one.

    right click on desktop
    new> shortcut
when the box comes up find the program you want to create a shortcut to

    go through the wizard
make sure the taskbar is not locked and drag the shortcut into the quick launch bar
