Mixing paint colours

Hi there

We have some paint left over from painting our bedroom and would like to use the rest to paint the second bedroom, but just need help with what colour the paint would be if we mix it all together.

We have a 3/4 tin of Dulux Night Jewels 6 (very light, almost white, grey shade), half a tin of Night Jewels 5 (light grey) and a tester tin of Night Jewels 4 (slate grey almost). We want to mix them together and maybe just add a small tin of pink or purple to give it a slightly different hue to our main bedroom.

Really random question, probably hard to judge without actually seeing the paint colours, but if we were to basically mix the grey paints with pink or purple, what sort of colour should we expect to get. Im thinking maybe a lilac or lavender colour, but it might just come out brown!

Any idea anyone?

mix all the white/grey together. then add the pink slowly. mixing and checking as you go.
    that should probably be ok.

    dont add the purple.
    Get some gorm.
  • Thanks Ormus, what sort of pink would you recommend, in order to get greyish, dusky colour. I dont want it to be too girly pink.

Just out of interest, what would the purple and grey be like?

Make sure you have enough paint as you never will be able to match it again

Mixing colours like this is always going to be incredibly hit and miss. None of the colours you're starting with are pure, so you won't know exactly what the finished effect will be until you try it. It's going to be very easy to end up with just a mucky colour.
I would go very, very easy on the slate grey pot.
