GE Money, Santander, Abbey National....where do i even start?

I'm looking to make a claim for PPI against my credit card but i have no idea where to even start!
I've had my Paypal credit card for about 5 years, i've been paying PPI throughout, but i can't even remember exactly when i applied for the card let alone whether i chose PPI. I applied online, which i know instantly makes it harder to claim but it's worth a go as i've probably paid a good 4 figures in PPI over the years.
When i took out the card it was with GE Money, who i presume were taken over by Santander, who i've now heard have been taken over by Abbey National. Who do i write to requesting my details including a copy of the original contract and where do i find the address please? What should my letter say? Which template do i use?
I know i sound clueless, but actually i probably am
Thanks in advance.

Hi there
Yes it can be more difficult for an online reclaim, but it have been done, depending on the reasons you may have.
I don't know it this applies to you or not, but going from some posts, some have applied online and the application would not go any further unless you ticked or accepted the ppi, I understand this would not be the case for all though.
You can optionally request for a Subject access request (SAR) where they should supply all the details they hold on the account going back at least the last 6 years, you enclose a payment of £10 cheque or postal order, they have 40 calendar days to comply.
There is a SAR template here for this request....

The check Martin's guidelines of reclaiming, to see if any of the mis selling reasons also apply to you....
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#checklist
Then if so, there is a reclaiming questionnaire, you complete and send to whoever responsible, keep copies of what you send and receive, in case you need to come back to them at some point.
They have 8 weeks, but may request for more time.
Questionnaire you send here:

Ask for any help if required, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hiya
I would of said the 3rd one, hopefully someone who have dealt with them will confirm.
You could try ringing them to make sure, did find some details below, no free tel number though unfortunately.

Well the initial letter asking for account information has been sent. The ball is now rolling. Fingers crossed!
I see GE is on the list of already having been fined, so thats got to be a hopeful sign right?0 -
