  • You are better off cooking it then outting it in the fridge and reheating it. I always do that anyway it tastes much better the day after all the juices sink through the pasta.

you can do either or safely as long as if your reheating then reheat thoroughly,
as said previously i enjoy it much more when its cooked one day and reheated the next as i think you can taste the flavours more

  • Hi there  I regularly assemble lasagne one day, then the children put it into the Rayburn when they get home from school, and I come home to a hot meal :j

I'll add this to the existing thread on this subject to keep ideas together ;)

Thanks Penny - and everyone for posting.

My concern about a reheat tomorrow is that the pasta can go quite chewy when reheated although I know what you mean about the flavours being better - a bit like soup , stews and curries.

Gordon Ramsey is doing lasagne on his Cookalong this Friday for anybody that does not know how to make it. The recipe is up on the website already: -

how about if you make the mince bit, and then just doe th elayering bit, and sticking it in the oven before you jump in thae bath/shower????

that way the mince has time to 'nature', and the pasta isn't soggy...

I think its better made in advance then popped in the oven to heat up and brown on the top before serving. IMHO It's a lot of work to make completely from scratch and serve straightaway. I usually make bolognaise one day, then lasagne from the leftover bolognaise either to freeze or serve next day.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
