Scam from TD waterhouse

This arrived in my inbox this morning I have never had any dealings with TD waterhouse or Virgin media and the link points somewhere else]
BEWARE - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!
Dear Client,
You have received a refund of 68.15 GBP from Virgin Media on 12/10/2010.
You haven't updated your personal information for 6 months. Please log in to your
TD Waterhouse account to re-active your account and complete the transaction:

    Now, where did that email from Barclays go saying they have suspended my account. I am sure that when I told them what planet they were on in 1982, the use of email was so futuristic, even Arthur C Clarke had not dreamt it up. Though I still play that Elf Bowling game from 1999, even though the email said that it was going to explode into something nasty on the 1st January 2000.

    Virgin Media took over Blueyonder and NTL. Have you had any dealings with either of them?

    it is definitely a scam....i wondered at first cos i was due a refund off virgin mobile but this said media so obviously i didnt click - i contacted virgin who said it was a scam and then sent me to;

    Please be aware of the following email. It`s a phishing attempt and should be deleted or reported as a phishing email in web mail.

    *UPDATE 13/10/2010*: We have also seen emails claiming to be from HSBC and Think Banking with the same text as below but with the aforementioned companies names in the text. Please note that we have not seen a Virgin Media branded phishing site in these instances.
