Scrap Gold V Refined Gold

Looking at the spot price for gold as I have some gold for sale.
one troy oz is £317.79 which i would assume would be for refined gold. as scrap gold would have to be tested and refined .
So have been thinking about refining this myself. but wanted to see if it was worth it, (cost)
But on the internet there is a Company that do a postal service but are also happy to do face to face, and it tells me that they would pay me £311.00 for one troy Oz
So I cant see me saving money on refining myself unless I was doing a very lot. and even with refined gold. the buyer wants a cut, so you don't get full spot price?
so think i will stick to the scrap

Not sure where you are getting your prices from but the spot price is approximately £857 per troy ounce at the time of writing.0

That's right.
I can offer you a deal, turbo. I grabbed all my wife's stuff, mostly 9 carat, and a bit of 18. But don't worry, I refined it this morning in my garden shed. Can let you have the whole 2 oz for, say, £1,650.....?0 -
Elizabeth Duke? Yes that sounds a bargain!0
