Ooook... I'm guessing some sucker put spam in my thread. :(

On a way more positive note, I rang Tesco tonight about my direct debit for my car insurance. It's due to go out on the 1st of every month, but wages are done on the 26th, and this month that's a Saturday, so wages aren't being done until the 28th. It wouldn't normally be an issue, but obviously it's February.

I could have managed, if I'd had to, however the lovely guy on the phone moved the direct debit date for me. I suggested 4th (allows time incase anything goes wrong) but he said how about the week after, so 7th it is! I didn't expect that, and I'm well impressed and happy.

I also put my hair appointment back a week, so I can now have a stress free end-of-the-month, knowing I have money in the bank for all planned expenditure. :j

    Thanks :)

I popped some petrol in my car today - that should take me into next week. I'm hoping it'll be quiet on the finance front now!

I'm feeling stressy about my finances again!

And it's all because I spent some money. The underwear I got in the sale last weekend has given me blisters where the underwires have dug in. Same brand, same size as normal and correctly fitted at Debenhams. I'm debating whether to try and take the bra back (obviously I'll wash it first).

As I'm very low on well fitting, supportive underwear, I bought some brand new on ebay, half price, right brand, right size. Then Mom and I were out, and popped into a lingerie shop that we've never managed to go to before. She bought me a new bra, and I put a deposit down on another which needed ordering. I do need this stuff, I just don't like having to pay so much, but I've a large cup size and need a lot of support.

Then I won a dress on ebay - which I haven't paid for yet. It'll be good for work or going out for a meal. I've decided that I don't like PayPal, as the money doesn't leave my account instantly, and it makes me panic about when it will. The answer is to pay money over to my PayPal account, but then I feel as though I'd spend it just because it's in there.

The real answer, is to not spend at all! I seem to be on a slippery slope so in March it's time to buck up. That said, my spend days are definitely lower than they used to be, and I'm less likely to impulse purchase.

I have also put the saddle back on ebay, hopefully that will sell this time! And I found out that the NFU have received the invoice, it's just that they need the invoice from the vets before they're able to pay it. We received our copy of that on Friday, so hopefully they'll pop the cheque in the post to us soon.

That is going to be used to pay off a big chunk of credit card and I can't wait!

Well my saddle didn't sell on ebay, but I did sell it for the reserve this morning! Cash on collection as well so it keeps my ebay/PayPal fees down. I now have a nice chunk of £400 that I'm going to set against my credit card. :j

Once I get the cheque through from the insurance company (and I have another invoice to submit) and pay that in, my credit card will be over half paid off!

I'm doing better with the not spending this month, although my available balance on my main account has dropped below £200. But I still have £60 in my secondary account and my credit card is, for once, not maxxed. I've also seen my loan drop below £3000 for I think the first time - I can't wait to start taking chunks out of that! And I still have money in my piggy bank - quite a bit I think.

I discovered that it was a free listing weekend on Ebay so I've got 13 auctions with 99p starts. There's some riding stuff I don't need any more and also a few suits that don't fit and I'll probably never get back into them. Obviously I'm hoping to make plenty of money on them but if I don't, at least there were no listing fees.

Overall I'm feeling rather happy right now! :j

I used my credit card today. Our cat needed to go to the vet, and Mom didn't have enough money in her account, but she doesn't know the pin for her joint account with Dad, who is away.

This time last month, I was up at my limit on the card, with little money in the rest of the bank. I'll get the money back next month, but I'm pleased that due to paying off some of my debt, to clear myself "emergency funds" I was able to use them in an emergency.

Our cat should be fine - he's had a bite to the head (presumably been fighting with our other cat, or one from down the street) and had a high temperature. He's been subdued as well. Some pain relief and antibiotics later (and one of those Feliway distiller things in the hopes of stopping the fighting!) and he's feeling a lot better already.

Payday - and a small pay packet this month compared to last! Mostly that's because of the way the days fell, and also February being a shorter month. It took me a while to suss that out though.

The good news is that I'm getting a promotion, and it's a bigger jump than I expected (both in pay and level/responsibility). I'm very excited, but gutted at the same time because I know what I could be doing, only we're short staffed and it has to wait until that is sorted. Still, I'm looking forward to it!

Unfortunately my request for time off later this year has been denied and it means that I can't go to an event I have been to for the last two years and loved. It's a very long drive this year and I just couldn't cope with that after work, for one day (well, two nights, I'd have to drive the Friday, event on the Saturday, and drive home Sunday).

I've been saving up in my "sealed pot" for spending money for this event, so I'll just have to put it to a different use! I toyed briefly with splurging now, but there is a slim chance they may reconsider nearer the time so I'll keep saving for now. If nothing else it can go against my debt.
