British Gas 330 Red Light Fault F5 - How much to fix?

My father had a brand new boiler system fitted 5 years ago through British Gas. There hasn't been a problem until tonight and I have turned it off (reset) and turned it back on and it keeps with the same message F5.

How much should I expect to pay to fix this problem? I think it needs a service anyway. But would help to know a figure before hand. So two things

IIRC F5 is overheat.

These are a rebadged Glowworm. To reset the boiler is a 1 min job, the most important thing is to find the reason it went to overheat.

Your pump should always be set on max speed for these boilers and in your case should be checked it is working. If you have 2 x 2 port valves then you should also have a bypass valve fitted.

To service and reset the boiler would be a standard service fee, around £60 + VAT depending on area. To find/fix the problem would need local investigation and a quote.

The reset only works for around 3 seconds then back to the problem. We have a guy coming down tomorrow, so I'll let you know what they say. But good to know around £70 quid odd. I'll use this info to make sure don't end up on Rogue Traders

The reset won't reset the overheat fault.

This has to be manually reset inside the boiler.

Total job cost £75 including service. I looked on British Gas website and the quote suggested £192! Quite a difference. Cheers for advice I used Checkatrade to find someone.
