I want to factory reset my sony vaio laptop - ie get rid of EVERYTHING on it and be able to start all over again as if it's new.
Can someone tell me how I do this?
Thanks

Did it not come with any discs, or has it got a hidden partition?
Check your owners manual it may be listed there.0 -
am not sure that I still have the discs it came with...0

Did the machine come with a System Recovery CD? Or is there a System Recovery Wizard you can run to create the recovery CDs?0

I have found the recovery disc. Is it as simple as following instructions on that disc? Or am I naive in believing that!0

Yes, follow instructions on CD. Or go to http://www.vaio-link.com/tutorials/tutorials.asp?l=en, Backup and Restoration section and enter your laptop details.0
