My lloyds tsb complaint finally starts moving

Hi guys after 3 years i am finally getting some where with my ppi complaint.

I have had 3 loans with lloyds tsb all settled
₤10000 date10/06/04
₤44941.49 date 24/05/06
₤24139.64 date 3/9/07
i have today recieved a letter from the ombudsman stateing that "lloyds tsb have agreed to make an offer to settle the complaint, lloyds tsb will be writing to you to explain the precise terms of its proposed settlement-however it will be based on the general approach that the financial ombudsman takes" blah blah blah. i have been given a form to sign and send back. This seems to say that i am agreeing to settle without knowing the actual sum i will receive, is this the norm and is it ok to sign this form ?
I would actually appreciate any help in calculating what amount i should get as i think it would be substancial to me. Also could they take any of the repayment say on a credit card debt that i say is unenforcable?
It has taken me along time to get to this position and dont want to mess it up now

thanks all

Hi and well done to you. Congratulations!

This is the norm, and if you want to post the calcs please do, Robbedofmymoney knows how Lloyds calcs work on this site, so hopefully he will be here at some point.

    Again well done!;)

tbh i dont have any of the calculations, i only got annoyed as i piad these loans without fail and then when i cleared them i paid more than the original amount i borrowed, seemed unfair they did try to fob me off with 7k 3 years ago, i sort of guessed based on sizes of other peoples posted gross amounts and reclaims i should get 20 + interest would the ombudsman know a rough figure?

You could ask the FOS if they can get hold of these for you.
    Or contact lloyds below....

    Lloyds PPI
    Customer Care
    Tel 0845 3005599
    Fax 01633 468835

    Or even email them here:

Hope they send these for you. X

Congrats on your success. :T I too have had Lloyds settle a CC ppi claim and returned my acceptance form at the end of August and my 8 weeks are now up and I have heard/received nothing from Lloyds re a settlement figure.
I'm going to the FOS this Friday if nothing arrives this week to ask them to chase it up. I'm only hoping that all this stuff in the press of late re Lloyds doesn't affect my case :(

Hi there and well done on your win.Just so you know, you only get ppi back that you paid and not the whole ppi if the loan was settled early, as you have not paid that ppi to full loan term. so for example if you paid 1 loan for 18 months you will get 18 months ppi back for that one.If the second loan only ran for 6 months then you only get 6 months ppi with interest. It looks from your loan amounts that these loans were taken out and the previous one settled from the new one?.
If you post each loan ppi amount and the start and end date i am sure robbedof or marshalka will help you with figures as they truly know their stuff!!.X
  • well just recieved a offer of payment for the loans and it isnt very helpfull at all no breakdown of how it has been worked out at all. ill be ringing lloyds tsb again tommorow why is this such a pain.

Well done on your offer, but it does help to have the calculations, this is lloyds all over unfortunately.
Have you also emailed them as well here?
    Customer.Care.Insurance@lloydsTsb.co.uk

Tell them it would be a help to know the amount before you accept, because you don't have no actual figures in front of you to make you decide, good luck with this and I hope its an offer your waiting for, fingers crossed X;)
