MPP and freelance work

Hi, i'm new to the forum and wondering if anyone can help please?
I was made redundant last week and luckily have mortgage payment protection in place. I'm pregnant and it would suit me and the pregnancy now and after when the baby comes if i can manage to get some freelance work rather than go back into work on a full-time basis. Does anyone know how this works with my MPP? The freelance work is likely to be erratic and so can i claim MPP while doing the what is likely to be infrequent freelance work?
