My dear son who's 6 has managed to mess up his pc.
He only plays simple games on it but today it wouldn't start up but read --windows cannot start-missing or corrupt file--
<windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe We dont have any installation discs.
What can I do to fix it for him?? Can I download it to my pc and install it on his??----And how ,if it wont start up?? Any help please?;)

I wouldn't put the blame on your son, instead it might be your hard disk is nearing it end of life. I've fixed quite a number of PCs/notebooks showing the same symptom and found that most of them needed a new hard disk (though few fixed by running tools like HDD Regenerator).

there is a solution here but if your not too sure about doing it you may be best getting someone with a better knowledge of fixing it to sort it.
Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.
