Advice on HSBC offers

Hi - is there an HSBC employee/knowledgeable forum member out there who might know the answer to this:
When I log in to my HSBC Basic Bank a/c online (don't use this for my main bank account so not that much money goes through per month although i do use it for excellent same day payments system) there are offers on the left hand side inc 'upgrade to HSBC advance', apply for credit card etc etc.
Are these preselected does anyone know or just general offers made to everyone with an account.
I do have a full bank account with debit card etc with another bank which i use for my salary and bills.
Another point is when i first opened the HSBC basic a/c in October 2007 the cash card that came with it was just £200 per day limit but they have just sent me a new card with a £750 per day withdrawal limit. I've never ever had a card that allows me to draw that much out - is this the norm?

I've got those same options on the left hand side, and I've always presumed they were just standard.
I'd be happy to be told otherwise, though!!0 -
I think your instincts are correct.
As far as I am aware, the "offers" on the left do not give any indication that you are pre-approved for them or would be approved if you apply.
The £750 ATM limit on a Basic Account is not standard (non-basic HSBC accounts usually have an ATM limit of £200 or £300 I think). I would take that as an indication of whether HSBC would approve you for a standard account (should you want one - but that's still probably something to discuss in branch as there could obviously be something on your file that would prevent an upgrade).0
