I have requested a refund of a single ppi payment from capital one dating back to 2002. They advised me that HFS was only subscribed to the Financial Ombudsman Scheme after 15.1.05 and as my complaint is based on events before that date the complaint falls outside the jurisdiction of the FOS and therefore they cannot arbitrate on this case. Does anyone know what I can do now?

Hi Mo and welcome

I would contact the FOS and see what they suggest, they may suggest the underwriter/insurer avenue as another way of trying to get your money back to you, where they have suggested this direction to many in the same situation.

Give them a call and see what they have to say, good luck.
