Britain’s property market is on a “knife edge” as estate agents warn house prices to fall further amid a sharp increase in property for sale.

Even estate agents are predicting further falls, when the austerity measures come into force & with vat going to 20% in 6 weeks !.. 2011 & is the year of major falls ! It is not even a debate anymore .
Looks as though the herd has been spooked. Trying to get last years price less 10% must seem attractive to anyone with a property to offload given the prospects for house prices in 2011. Of course most have missed the boat by not cutting asking prices when there were still enough gullible buyers around.0 -
What is the problem with this? Why discriminate people just because they are on unskilled work? Everyone should do their bit for society and must be respected no matter what.
Or Sibley............?
I know who I would have more respect for.0 -
Based on my experience as a house hunter in the SE. There has indeed been a sharp increase. A sharp increase in over priced, cruddy houses for sale marketed by chancers wanting to get 2007 prices plus 15%.0

Loads of them around my way.Not Again0 -
Was there a sharp increase in the number of houses for sale generally in September? I looked at the home.co.uk asking prices report for Wiltshire and for Surrey, and the number of properties on the market has risen slightly in the last few months, but I wouldn't have called it a sharp increase.0

Gullible? Well why say that? I mean some of us just want to live in a house we own and so buy and sell when suits us rather than when we think prices will suit us best. BTW, I suspect I'll never sell my current house but may well by a holiday home by the sea somewhere if prices fall as much as some say, I can't be alone in that.0
