Tax credit advice please

My husband is self employed and things have picked up (finally!). He might receive a few thousand pound more in salary than our estimation this tax year. I am going to contact TC to re-estimate however my friend mentioned a £25k disregard and I don't understand this at all. Should I be contacting them or not? Thanks for any advice.:):D

No need to contact them unless you earn at least 25k more than your estimate. This is to avoid overpayments etc
This amount is due to be reduced after the next tax year though.
To be honest I would prob give them a quick call anyway
When it comes to tax credits it's always best to be on the ball with these things :j 0 -
Is your tax credits based on last years wages or did you give an estimate? If you gave an estimate for example less that last years salary then the disregard cannot be used!0

Yes you must give them an updated estimate, there is no disregard on claims based on an estimate of this year's earnings. The disregard only applies if your award is based on last years actual earnings.0
