So Digital Camera, Printer, and Computer of one sort or another and Games Console are the things most people have so far.

Is 81% (the printer percentage) the true total level of people who own a computer?

Or do 100% have at least one computer since 73% have a lap top 8% have a Mac, 60% have a desktop and 15% have a netbook?

Or do the 73% who have a laptop also own one or two other computers?

My MIL has none of those things, but she does have a microwave and a washing machine. My son is moving out soon and I think he expects to have almost all of them!

The thing with this is what do you count as a Gadget? Why is a slow cooker a gadget. Are we meant to only be looking at modern items off that list. I technically own games consoles which i play regularly but they are an Atari 2600 (1977) an Atari Jaguar (1993) and an Original x-box. So not exactly a modern gadgets. As as regards food processor I have a 30 year old Kenwood chef with a FP attachment.

So what do you want from this poll. What new devices people have or what?
  • Didn't see a Sling Box on the list - we can watch Doctors in Florida via our lap top while having breakfast. Are we sad? Yes!

I thought I had loads of gadgets but it turns out not as much as some people!

    I have a:

Mac laptop (for work and uni)
    iMac
    printer/scanner combo
digital camera (have several cameras DSLR, SLR (film) holga and seagul twin lens (film) type and a little digital compact)
iPhone (the first gen one and it's looks rather battered - my brother gave it to me though so it's a freebie :))
    electric toothbrush
wacom intuos 3 tablet - which is not currently working and the warranty ends today!!! :( (luckily I have a mini wacom tablet which still works after 10 years of use!)

I do have a onecup kettle type thing... and a hairdryer...

Don't have a TV/video/dvd etc (can watch DVD's on the computers)

    does a Dremel count :D

I work in photography and my Uni course is digital media design hence the computer & photography stuff so I do use these items everyday... except the hairdryer (which I didn't pay for... ex-house tenant left it behind!)

    :D
Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later date :o:D
now at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!

I luuuurve gadgets and I have all the gadgets listed bar for:

3D TV (not convinced at tech)
Gaming chair (Leather sofa suffices and I aint 12)
Energy monitor box (Was sent one, by the leccy company but had zero gadge factor so was binned, I knew how much leccy I was using its called a bill)
Breadmaker (Have fab independant artisan baker nearby)

I also have about 20k of camera and video kit which has paid for itself a 100 times over. I also have multiples of other items, I have about 8 laptops at the mo, 3 are used the rest are stashed in the garage.
However my weakness is for hi fi kit, current setup cost 20k ish :o but if the funds were available I could happily blow 120K on British Made hi fi gadge heaven.

Its all relative though, a lot of my gadge is related to my work, and any gadge has to justify its existence and earn its keep.

Met a photo/vidiographer on holiday last week, I was drooling at his 300k worth of kit, but he does shoot underwater for national geographic.
  • Everything but these !

    iPad/Tablet device
    Ebook reader
    3D TV
    Gaming chair
    Energy monitor box
    Breadmaker

    Would be interesting to see how many of each, people have. There are 3 x 32" tv's in our house as well as a 40", a 26", a 19", a 15" and 3 x 14". Do I win? :o

Computers are another thing many people have several of whether it be desktops or laptops.

An interesting one would be to see how many people own these!
    CRT TV yes
    Video Player
    Car Phone
    Tape Deck yes
    Floppy Disks yes
    Gameboy
    Crimping Iron

I only had 5 items on the gadget list

I'm just glad the poll wasn't about books, cds and dvds as that's where all my money goes :o:D
