  • set up my i pod with i tunes,am i right in thinking that the only way to place music,is by a cd and uploading it to itunes.most of my music is on my computer how do i upload direct from my collection....
  • Thats correct and you just drag and drop the music files into iTunes Library and then it will start changing them to iTunes format i.e. mp3 or the stupid one that you cant play unless you have iTunes installed or a ipod.

Suggest you have a look at the guides on http://forums.ilounge.com/ to understand the issues of manually syncing iPods and having a music collection outside the iTunes library.

If you manually sync, and the files are already MP3 files the you can move the files directly to the iPod. Once iTunes has recognised the iPod and its name appears in the 'Source' list, you can drag files & folders from Windows Exploror onto the iPod icon and they will be copied across and organised on the iPod using the tags in the MP3 files NOT the directory structure you've used on the PC.
