Dormouse nest
Not exactly moneysaving but I think I have a Dormouse nest in my garden. I've done some research into the type and location of nests, habitat, time of year - this particular one is a metre off the ground and in the branches of an ornamental vine crossed over with honeysuckle, which I gather they like to strip the bark and weave into the nest. Zero nut trees in the vicinity. In the spring there was a tiny hole at the front and I'd wondered if it could be a Wren nest, today the hole is woven over and several types of leaf intertwined. Sorry I can't do a photo but would like to know if anyone has experience of a Dormouse nest.

Here's a good leaflet with some further web links - perhaps you ought to contact your local wildlife group or other experts?

I'm certainly not planning to interfere in any way, I believe you have to be licensed to handle Dormice. I'll keep an eye on it over winter and bear in mind setting up a camera in the vicinity next Spring. I need to do more investigation into nests of other creatures, we've always had mice in our garden. I'm close to a busy A road and there has been a lot of disruption to ancient woodland over the last 12 months. I've had song thrushes for the first time ever and sure it is due to their displacement from their prefered habitat.0
