I bought a wii and wii fit bundle off ebay which was delivered today. I set it up and after nipping into town to get batteries (duracell pack of 8 for 2 remotes and board) i put them in the remotes without problem, however when i put the other 4 in the board it did nothing. scrapped around and found 4 other aa batteries from various kids toys, cheap and nasty ones, which actually got it working suprisingly, and me and my sister had a play this avo. However this evening it kept losing communication and stopped switiching on. I figure its the batteries. I have 4 nimh supercell rechargable ones on charge at the min, but i doubt they'll be ready til the morning, have tried them briefly after about an hours charge and nothing.
Im really worrying that its faulty, can anyone offer any advice???

i would wait until the batteries have charged fully and try again.
I have found that batteries usage for our balance board a lot better than i expected.
May have been one dodgy battery in the packet?Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

As Syman says, you may have one dud battery in the pack. I'd try a new set of AA's - something like Duracell.
Had the same batteries in our balance board for over a year, but it hardly gets used these days. I'd initially be a bit wary of using rechargeables - they give out a slightly lower voltage than standard AA cells, so the board might not operate with them. Haven't tried any in mine as the standard ones have lasted so long.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Is it a Nintendo Wii Fit Board or is it something like a Gameon one? I ask because I had this problem with two Gameon boards and gave up on them. I now have Nintendo one and it works fine. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

hiya, thanks for the replies. Tried the charged up rechargables this morning and nothing. got another pack cheapies off market today to try when i get home. my dad had a look this morning and he seems to think one of the connectors that touches the batteries is too loose, it also looks like a battery may have leaked onto it a bit, and that that battery bit isnt quite as snug fit so not connecting. Not quite sure what to do about that yet, though have ordered one of the madkatz battery packs off play see if that solves the problem. Am gutted tbh as i was really enjoying myself on it yesterday-though i ache a bit today lol! oh and it's the proper wii one, didnt know there was another version lol xx0

I had problems with single batteries as one had leaked and a spring dislodged. I got a chargeable battery pack thing from Argos or Tesco, can't remember which and it solved the problem.0

thanks chattie, hopefully that will solve my prob, have ordered couple from play, the madkatz ones as they were £2.99 each!
Best of all, my wonderful daddy thinks he can fix the loose connector, he builds and installs alarm systems or something like that, and managed to fix my daughters favourite teddy that did interact with a dvd, but that stopped talking after she threw him on the floor in town while having a tantrum! so fingers crossed for my dad and the battery packs-hopefully one will solve the problem lol!:rotfl:0
