SFE Incorrect Assesments

I am finding it increasingly difficult to get the calculations for my sons Grant/Loan.
On the SFE Website it advises that Dental and Medical Students can qualify for a bursaryvia the NHS in Year 5 of their course. My son is in year 2 of his dental course and SFE in their infinate wisdom have decided that my son should have this "year 5 Bursasry" included as part of his "year 2" assessment...so as a result his grant has been effectly wiped out.
I now have to contact somebody in the NHS (Yes somebody in NHS SFE advisors own words) To give my son a letter to say that he isn;t getting a bursery from the NHS and send them a copy! Yes even though they know he is in year two of his course and this bursary is in year 5 before they reassess his award.
It beggers beleif, you could not script this and it woulld constitute an episode of The Office. Are any parents in the same boat......
and who is accountable for SFE, none of their advisors know.

Is he doing an Undergraduate Dentistry degree?
Postgraduate Dentist/Medical students get NHS bursaries from year 2 so check that the SFE have him taking the right course0 -
David Willetts is the minister for Universities, so he would be accountable.0

Didn't you know? Government ministers are not accountable at all - they are Teflon coated, absolutely nothing sticks. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

AFAIK SFE have made a mistake and there are a lot of Dental students having the same problem - if he contacts the Student Advice Centre at the Students' Union they will be able to help him. There is also a complaints procedure and it may be worth him contacting his local MP if they don't get it sorted out soon.
Good luck."Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."0
