Blackberry & Carphone Warehouse

Just need to let off steam
I took out a contract for DD 17yo a Blackberry from Carphone Warehouse 5 weeks ago (she's paying me back, but as she's under 18, she can;t have the contract herself). On Saturday the screen went white. She's tried everything and it refuses to come back on. She can receive and make calls (as long as she knows the number
) but can't make of receive texts, send or receive e-mails, search the net, or use BB mail
I called CW and they only have an in-store guarantee for 28 days. They will send it away for a repair or (most likely) a replacement. This will take up to 28 days  She will be loaned a basic phone, or can borrow a higher spec one for a £50 deposit  I suggested that DD is paying a £20/mth contract for a £10/mth service and was told that the contract is for the sim-card and the phone is a free gift
She has now tried to fetch her photos off the phone, but can only do this if they're on the memory card, but she can only transfer them there with the screen
I'm so pleased that I have a basic PAYG phone
Thank you for letting me get that off my chest :A
