Speeding fine and producing my licence

I very stupidly got caught speeding last Tuesday (42mph in a 30mph). It was my own fault and I hold my hands up. However I have to produce my licence at my local police station. Where I live is a bit in the back of beyond and I went on Friday to produce my licence and the police station was shut!

My question is: Do I have to go in person to produce the paper part of my licence or can my husband do it for me?
