There is a good website that gives information about bailiffs (because if they are attempting to recover money for council tax they are bailiffs and NOT debt collectors).
You should NEVER allow the bailiff access to your home (this also applies to your parents as well). Write to them (send recorded) and offer a repayment plan that you can keep to (work out what you can afford first)

The web-site is run by Herbie21 who used to post here but got a lot of flaK.
1. Sell you car to someone you trust for £1 NOW and get the receipt.
2. Ring the contact above - it costs but probably more effective than the debt charities give the short time span.
You need to use the vulnerable aduklt line as plainly your wife was in not state to let the bailiff in.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

don't panic you may not receive a reply for a few days from rossendales
bear in mind rossendales have a copy of the notice of seizure and no bailiff will risk there job by re- entering your property to removing the goods on this levy
yesterdays visit was to justify the van fee that they will have added to your accountI am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

well i phoned the bailiff offering him a payment of £200, he just rudely said,"keep your money, im coming to collect the goods". I phoned rossendales and they were no help at all, telling me to contact the bailiff, even when i mentioned the email and its contents they just put the phone down on me.
Ive tried to phone the councillor that i sent the email to and have got his answering machine, ive left a message asking if he has received the email and that it was urgent.
Ive tried the CAB but there is no phone advice today.0 -

I 2nd that, all I have learnt is from another forum, although I dont go into major detail, about the different forms etc, but I do know my basic bailiff monkey talk to be able to hand out the 1st line of support. Just like my IT department at work I would be 1st line support any thing more then I will move over and let the experts deal<

1. Have you sold the car? If not do it - Bailiffs have number plate recognition.
2. have you rung Herbie21 on the premium number? She is probably the only person who can stop the bailiff taking your goods and charging you £1250 for the privilege in the timescale. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
