hi guys
quick question from me
i am getting a credit card from tesco, 0% on purchases for 13 months. I am looking to use this to pay for my years car insurance in 1 annual amount. My question is just...does buying insurance count as a "purchase" or is it only when you buy something like in a shop? basically will i be charged anything by tesco for doing this? (i know about paying off min amounts etc, just not sure whether this is a purchase)
cheers for help in advance

I would think that it would just count as a standard purchase. At the end of the day its just an amount on the statement.0

It's a purchase. But there may be bigger problems looming if you don't act to protect yourself...
1. Make it absolutely clear to the insurance company that this is a one-off transaction, and that they're not to retain your card details for next year's renewal.
2. Ring them in a month or two to check they have no credit card registered for your account.
3. Do not ignore your renewal documents next year if, at first glance, the premium is too high. You need to check closely to ensure that the policy doesn't auto-renew if you don't contact them. Look for a phrase along the lines of "you don't need to do anything since we'll automatically claim payment from your card ending xxxx".0 -
