I tend not to make supper, but my Mum always made it for us when we were growing up - we used to have toast and tea, or sometimes crumpets or pikelets (my favourites), and sometimes she would make drop scones, as we had this big iron griddle thingie which you put on the top of the stove, or onto the fire (we had a coal fire).Jane

Cheese & Grapes, glass of wine

Actually I do recall as a supper/snack time thing as a kid, my mum used to have this kind of tray thing with 4 sections, and I used to put different things in there, like beetroot in one section, a couple of pickled onions, cheese, crackers etc... All snacky things.0 -

Is it true that you're not meant to eat cheese or apple before bed as they'll give you nightmares? Or old wives tales.I've been lucky, I'll be lucky again. ~ Bette Davis0 -
I think although it's a bit of an old wives tale, cheese sits on your stomach & I always seem to have odd dreams after eating it... never heard of not eating apple before bed though!0
