Free Cardiff Bus Card with £3 on - like Oyster Card

Hey, don't know if anyone's heard about the new smartcard being introduced on Cardiff Bus?! It's called the 'iff' card and was launched last Tuesday (6th October).

I only found out about it after it was released and after they had a stand up outside Central library giving away free ones with £3 loaded onto it for use on the buses
But I have just seen on the website that you can sign up for a free one too, so have just done that on this link: http://www.cardiffbus.com/smartcard.shtml

It say's they're giving 30,000 away free, not sure how long the link has been up or how well it's been advertised but I get the bus 1-2 times a week and whilst I had seen posters they weren't very informative and I knew nothing about it!

Worth a try just incase I guess ..... :)
Saving up for our 2014 Las Vegas wedding and US road trip honeymoon, all deposits paid - just balances to go! :j

Thanks Kali, yeah I've applied for this too! Fingers crossed it arrives - I live in Newport but work in Cardiff so I'm here using the buses every day...

The problem is that it's not "capped" like the London Oyster card. You could use it in the morning for one journey, then in the afternoon for another, and another in the evening and it will charge you for every journey. It's cheaper to buy an "all day" ticket for £3 on your first journey.
  • Its very well advertised they have got application forms on all the buses for the card

The thing is that it isn't actually a ticket - it's a means of paying for a ticket without having to have the correct change.
